CLIENT:

FIVETHIRDS CONSTRUCTION LTD

Fivethirds is a new company formed by a highly experienced quantity surveyor from East London. Although only recently branching out into the world of business independence – the owner of this company has many years of experience and countless successful projects under his belt.

Understanding the need for brand identity – the Fivethirds director reached out to me and we got things moving!

I DESIGNED THE FOLLOWING:

  • Logo

  • Website (Currently Under Construction)

  • Brochure (Currently In the Design Process)

LOGO DESIGN – THE CONCEPT
Rationale

The name of the company is based on the fraction “5/3”. I wanted to display this in a way that looked cool, eye-catching and didn’t necessarily show the “/” symbol.

After exploring a few of these options I decided to simplify. I went on to use a simple typeface and then felt the need to incorporate shape.

Circle or square…

I felt that the Circle shape could represent the all round service provided by Fivethirds. Quickly I realised this wasn’t the best direction. Using block shapes like a square would better fit into the building industry.

The customer loved the square concept! The clean minimal look matched the direction in the brief. The square shape with soft edges can be easily distinguishable in various environments.
